One of the coziest ways to start your day is with a hot, steamy cup of coffee or tea, am I right? It’s cold and crisp outside, and you’re ready for something warm to drink.
I am so excited to share some fun recipes you can make right at home that will make that everyday drink oh so special!

You don’t need a fancy $5 cup of coffee when you can make something even more delicious (and quick!) in your own kitchen. And these creamers aren’t just for coffee! Add some to your tea, make a steamer or hot chocolate - any kind of cozy drink that strikes your fancy.

Here's what you need for your base:
14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk or healthy substitute
1.5 cups of milk*
1 tablespoon of pure vanilla

*You can use whatever you'd like: nonfat, 2%, whole, half and half - it's up to you!

And here are your add ins for different flavor combinations:
+SNICKERDOODLE: 2 drops Cinnamon Bark Vitality and a dash of ground nutmeg
+CHOCOLATE PEPPERMINT: 3 drops Peppermint Vitality and 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
+ORANGE MOCHA: 3 drops Orange Vitality and 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
+SPICY MOCHA: 2 drops Cinnamon Bark Vitality and 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
+VANILLA SPICE: 1 drop Clove Vitality, 1 drop Cinnamon Bark Vitality, 1 drop Nutmeg Vitality

Throw all of your ingredients into a blender and blend until perfectly combined. Pour into a glass container, cover, and refrigerate! Mark with an expiration date (same as whatever is on your carton of milk). That's it!

It's a great alternative to store bought creamers, and a fun gift to give over the holidays!

Enjoy!

Scientific studies have shown that we process our memories and emotions through our limbic system, which is tied to our olfactory nerve. That means our sense of smell can have a major impact on how we think and feel. When we’re having company over, we want to create the most inviting space possible, and that starts with scent! As soon as someone walks in the door, I want them to feel at home.

I can’t even tell you how many candles I’ve purchased over the years. Especially in the fall and winter, I was obsessed with finding the perfect one to fill up every corner of my household with the smell of baked goods. Then I learned that candles are terrible for us, and that diffusing actually benefits us. That’s a pretty awesome alternative!

So, this diffuser blend basically made all my dreams come true with it’s amazing aroma of sweet treats and holiday delights. Add this mix to your favorite diffuser and everyone will marvel at the magic.

One of the keys to creating a cozy environment is creating small spaces for people to gather. Little sitting nooks and chairs drawn together. Open concept living is all the rage (thank you, HGTV), but even in expansive rooms, having small areas for intimate gatherings is key to a warm and inviting environment. Before a gathering, cluster pieces of furniture together to create areas for conversation and connection.

Have warm accents around your little nooks - pillows and throws, soft lighting, your favorite books, a leafy plant (I won’t tell if it’s fake). Things that aren’t cluttery, but make people feel surrounded by personality and warmth.

And obviously, have your favorite diffuser at the ready! The Desert Mist is my go-to with it’s perfect candle flicker setting. Bonus points if you have a fire in the fireplace (is there anything cozier?!). But even if that’s not happening, make your own fireside diffuser blend! Here’s mine:

How about a fun and easy DIY?

This is a great project to do with kids, for a girl’s night in, or while you binge watch your favorite show. We grabbed some muslin bags from Amazon (linked below), but you could also use cute fabric scraps!

Handmade drawer sachets keep even our clothes and linens cozy! Plus, they are great little gifts for teachers or neighbors - something warm and comforting to tuck away and bring us a little happy every time we open our dresser or linen closet!

Here’s what you need for four sachets:
small burlap bags or 6” squares of fabric scraps
one cup uncooked white rice
8 drops of your favorite essential oils (we love Orange+Lavender!)
twine if you're using fabric scraps

Put your rice into a bowl. Add your essential oils. We did four of orange and four of lavender. Swirl it around. Add a quarter cup to each muslin bag, cinch it up, and you’re ready to go!

If you’re using fabric scraps, lay each square flat. Make a little pile of rice in the center of each square. Carefully pull the corners up to meet each other, and tie a piece of twine or ribbon around the middle to contain the rice and keep it from spilling.

Voila!

Are you ready for the coziest diffuser blend that envelops you in Christmas? Prepare yourselves for magic. This combo is on constant rotation at my house because it makes me feel like Buddy the Elf, doing cartwheels in the Candy Cane Forest. IT’S AMAZE.

Here’s what you need:
+3 drops Christmas Spirit
+3 drops Orange
+3 drops White Light or Idaho Balsam Fir

My kids LOVE this blend - bring on the coziness!

One of my favorite drinks of all time is a Chai tea latte. The spicy, dreamy goodness in one little cup brings so much happiness! I could drink it all fall and winter long. There is an amazing Indian restaurant in Seattle that serves bottomless Chai and it is wonderful. There is literally a chai waiter that just waits for you to empty your cup and then refills it immediately. Like a dream world.

And now you can make it at home with your favorite vitality oils. Does it get any better than that?! Invite your bestie over, curl up in your favorite chair and spend time catching up over this toasty drink.

Chai Tea
1 drop Cardamom Vitality
1 drop Cinnamon Vitality
1 drop Black Pepper Vitality
2 drops Orange Vitality
2 bags of black tea
1-2 Tbs honey
12 oz milk
12 oz water

Steep tea bags in boiling water, and then add warmed milk. Once combined, mix in the honey and drops of essential oils. Makes two healthy servings!

One of the easiest ways to make a space feel warmer and comforting is to add a few throws and quilts here and there. Draped over a chair or a couch, rolled up in baskets near a sitting area, even displayed over a cute ladder leaning against a wall. Having something warm and snuggly to grab when you’re relaxing with friends or reading a good book is the epitome of making these colder days feel extra cozy.

And now we’re going to help you make those blankets even MORE inviting with this easy DIY: a misting spray for all your throws and quilts. You could even spray your furniture, and tuck one away in your car. This combination is an absolute dream - rich and inviting in every way.

Here’s what you need:
2oz glass spray bottle
1/2 tablespoon of witch hazel

Distilled water
8 drops Frankincense
8 drops Idaho Balsam Fir
8 drops Cedarwood

Add your essential oils and witch hazel to the spray bottle. Fill the rest of the way with distilled water. Seal tightly and it’s ready to use!

Each of the oils used are known for their soothing and grounding properties and are the perfect combo for the Christmas season!

As soon as there’s a chill in the air, my kids are asking for hot chocolate every single day. And I mean, who doesn’t want to drink something that delicious on the reg? I love this recipe because it makes it a little more special AND I can control the amount of sugar my little ones are taking in. And we all know that’s big because who really wants their kids bouncing off the walls, right?

And let’s be real, this recipe isn’t just for the little ones because it is DELISH. It’s the perfect winter warm up, even better topped with whipped cream. And if you need a little pick me up, you can add some coffee and you’ve got a dreamy peppermint mocha all to yourself.

Here’s what you need for the best peppermint hot chocolate:
2 cups of milk, heated
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
3 teaspoons sugar
2 drops of Peppermint Vitality
Optional: whipped cream

In a small dish, combine cocoa powder and sugar. Add in essential oil and swirl. Divide between two mugs. Pour one cup of warmed milk into each mug, top with whip, and serve!

Enjoy!

You ready for another DIY? How about one that equals you alone in the bathroom soaking in a tub uninterrupted? Can I get an AMEN?

This is another easy (because that’s the key, right?) project that you can do to treat yourself after a long day, AND it’s the perfect gift for all the other hardworking ladies in your life. You can play around with your favorite oils, but I am obsessed with this combo of Ylang Ylang and Bergamot. Why?

+YLANG YLANG is known as a natural mood booster and can promote feelings of calm. It’s actually a great boost for wellness overall and is awesome for your skin.

+BERGAMOT is another oil that supports emotional health, can encourage all over physical relaxation, and promotes glowy skin.

So, let me see, a double dose of relaxation and gorgeous skin? Done and done.

Here’s what you need:

  • some kind of cute container

  • 1 cup epsom salt

  • 1 tablespoon of Himalayan pink sea salt (optional)

  • 3 drops each Ylang Ylang and Bergamot

Combine all ingredients and store in your container of choice. The pink sea salt is a way to pretty it up for gift giving, but not 100% necessary. Good for one amazing bath.

We love storing ours in cute little upcycled mason jars, but there are so many possibilities!

Need to wow your guests? In charge of dessert for a gathering? Just want something amazing to serve your family? Look no further - this apple crisp is THE STUFF.
It’s warm cinnamon-y goodness that just makes your heart and your mouth and your stomach very happy. And it’ll make you the star of the show.

The Clove Vitality added to the crisp was something I tried on a whim and now I will never NOT use it when I make this recipe. It’s subtle and spicy and perfectly cozy.

Here’s what you need:
4 cups of sliced apples
2 tablespoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour (can substitute coconut or almond flour for GF)
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup of butter, melted
1 drop Cinnamon Bark Vitality
1 drop Clove Vitality

Gently combine apple slices, two tablespoons of sugar, and ground cinnamon. Pour into a buttered baking dish or cast iron skillet (my favorite). In a separate bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and pour over the top of apples evenly. Press down gently. Bake at 375 for about thirty minutes, until apples are very tender. Top with whipped cream or ice cream for an extra treat! Best served warm.

Serves 6.

We have another DIY spray for you that is perfect to keep bedside because it is OH SO DREAMY. If you are hosting guests over the holidays (or anytime!), leave this in their room to help them drift off to dreamland. I love walking around the house at bedtime and misting my kids’ pillows with “dream spray” to help them settle in. Both Frankincense and Orange are incredible for sleep support and feelings of calm, and I think anyone who has ever wanted a kid to go to bed feels me on this one.

Here’s what you need:

  • 2oz glass spray bottle

  • 1/2 tablespoon witch hazel

  • distilled water

  • 10 drops Frankincense

  • 10 drops Orange

Add your oils and witch hazel to the spray bottle. Fill the rest of the way with distilled water. Screw on the top and there you go! Ready for a night of perfect, cozy slumber.

Do you have a favorite sleepy combo?

It’s movie night! You’ve got what you’re going to watch all picked out, your dreamy throw draped over you - what else do you need to set the mood for the perfect night snuggling up on the couch?

First, you need to fill up your diffuser. My favorite for a quiet night at home is Peace and Calming. Tangerine, Orange, Ylang Ylang, Patchouli and Blue Tansy are seriously the BEST combo for a peaceful night. You can’t help but sink into to your comfiest piece of furniture and feel totally relaxed.

Next up, you need a snack. Obviously. What’s movie night without popcorn? But not just any popcorn - let’s add some pep! Here are few recipes you can try to jazz things up.

+BLACK PEPPER POPCORN. Pop as usual. Melt butter. Add in two drops of Black Pepper Vitality oil, give it a swirl, and then pour over the popcorn. Give it a good toss and enjoy! Salt to taste.

+ROSEMARY PARMESAN. Combine one tablespoon of olive oil with one drop of Rosemary Vitality and drizzle over popcorn, then toss to coat. Sprinkle with a tablespoon of grated parmesan and YUM. Salt to taste.

+SWEET AND SPICY. Pop popcorn. Melt butter. Add one drop each of Cinnamon Bark, Clove, and Orange, along with 1 tablespoon of maple syrup. Stir well. Drizzle over popcorn and toss to coat. Salt to taste.

Sit back and relax and enjoy the show!
