YEAST
I feel like this word typically has a bad connotation, but a small amount of yeast is actually beneficial. It is when overgrowth takes place that problems start to occur. As much as you don't want to hear this... excess sugar is usually the cause of yeast overgrowth. Did you know that a "sweet tooth" usually stems from the candida itself demanding us to feed it? That’ll change your perception of those cravings real quick, right?
Did you know that Candida overgrowth is the leading cause of mortality from infection? Wow!
It's also been shown to convert mercury to a methylated form that is stored in fatty tissue and it's very difficult to get rid of. It is known to have the highest toxicity to humans. WOW!
Yeast overgrowth is responsible for 91% of ulcerative colitis and is also associated with depression, lupus, asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.
A simple Candida test we can perform:
Before we eat or drink in the am, spit into a clear glass of water. Check it every 15 minutes for an hour and if it spreads out, develops long tendrils hanging down, sinks to the bottom of the glass or creates specks in the middle of the water, you may just have a candida problem.
How many of you guys are grabbing a glass to do this right now?? Another simple way to test is to look at your tongue. If it has a white coating — hello yeast!
Yeast test:
Before going to bed, place a cleanglass of drinking water on the night stand.
When you wake in the morning, before you put anything in your mouth, work up a good amount of saliva andspit it into the glass of water.
Check the water in 15 minutes and again in 30 minutes.
Your saliva should disperse. But it there are strings coming down from your saliva, or if the water turned cloudy with suspended specks or ifyour saliva sank to the bottom, you may have elevated levels of Candida Yeast. (yeast is a fungi not a bacteria)
If after one hour there are no strings, specks, etc and the saliva is still floating you probably have your yeast under control.
FIXING CANDIDA OVERGROWTH
One big way to fix candida overgrowth is to eliminate sugar, dairy, and processed grains for the first 2 weeks. I know it’s hard, but you can do it! Cooking with coconut oil and raw apple cider vinegar (Braggs brand) is super beneficial to this process as it aides in killing off the overgrowth. It’s also super important to drink plenty of water throughout the day.
How much water? It’s recommended to drink half your body weight in ounces a day. If during any cleansing process, you seem to have looser bowels, urinate more frequently, or have any more additional fluid output more so than usual, it is crucial to replace any loss with additional hydration during the process of elimination.
Once the two weeks are up, add back simple foods once every 4 days testing out if what you're adding back causes sensitivities. Avoid white sugar permanently and instead use stevia extract, coconut sugar, monk fruit, real fruit juices, honey, or molasses. Those substitutes taste just as good and won’t leave your body compromised.
**Boost your candida cleanse: take up to 25 drops of Melrose oil in a capsule up to 3x daily (you can mix with liquid coconut oil). You can start off with fewer drops, then build. You will notice a massive difference. If you choose not to ingest Melrose - don’t! Some people choose to do this kick start to get rid of yeast, and for a short period. It’s not an oil you would take daily.
Also, with all of these cleanses, do not forget the importance of taking Life 9. Probiotics will help create an environment for the candida to die off.
How’s that glass test going? Anyone seeing yeast overgrowth yet?
Original protocol suggested by Gary Young
Candida Cleanse
1 15 ml. bottle Melrose + 78 drops
84 drops rosemary
200 drops V6 oil
Mix all together and put 20 drops in a capsule. Take 2 caps per day on an empty stomach
Take for 16 days or if problem is longstanding, take 30 days.
Gary Young and his team did a 3 month research project on 88 children in Eduador with parasites and 36 with Candida. The group researches mixed 1 drop of Ocotea Essential Oil with 8 oz. of water, and gave the children 1 oz. portions of the mixture daily. The result? Ocotea killed the parasites and the Candida! Ocotea also helps with chronic inflammation, kills foot fungus in 3 days, lowers blood sugar levels, levels emotions, and cuts cravings.
For immediate relief from burning, Young Living's Melrose (which is a blend of melaleuca and rosemary) applied to a tampon works fast.Candida is the result of an acidic body. Young Living has a couple supplements to make your body more alkaline:
Alkalime which is infused with lemon and lime essentials oils.
MultiGreens - is a chlorophyll formula.
Q: Does anyone have a candida cleanse or regime they have using oils and supplements?
A: Parafree capsules have been used by some.
A: Life 9
A: Mighty Pro
A: Clove oil, oregano oil and myrrh oil are all known to be powerful antifungals that can help kill a variety of parasites and fungi in the body, including candida. Lavender oil is also known to stop the continued growth of candida and prevent the spread of infection throughout the body.
I get candida rashes every now and then and unfortunately the itching never goes away and the rash literally spreads over my abdomen. I have been eating a much healthier diet, but still I get candida rashes. I read in the Desk Reference that DiGize might help, so I mixed about 2 drops of DiGize with a few drops of olive oil and rubbed it all over the rash area.
I was thinking just today how the candida rash had gone which is very strange because it never leaves on it's own and I usually have to take an internal candida cleanse for several weeks in order for it to go completely away and not continue to spread. That process leaves me itching for weeks and watching it spread across my body...NOT FUN!
After using the DiGize for 2-3 days it was GONE - NO MORE RASH and NO MORE ITCHING! Praise God for the remarkable things He has made to help our bodies!
Q: Any thrush/candida testimonials? (Whole body, not nursing related)
A: I used thieves mouthwash for oral thrush, it was gone in a day or two.
A: For Systemic yeast I would look at Parafree capsules
A: My mother-in-law has been using the candida recipe from the desk reference and is seeing good results. (5 drops Lemongrass, 4 drops Thyme, 4 drops Melaleuca Alternifolia [Tea Tree], 2 drops Geranium)
I'm seeing good results from parafree as well. That candida recipe looks good! I might try that, too!
Q: I saw a graphic for something the other day and it said ANTI-candida. I cannot remember which oil that was. Do any of you remember seeing it? Do you know which oil it was?
A: Melaleuca Quinquenervia is the top antifungal oil. Parafree can clean out yeast, Detoxzyme may also help, Inner Defense another option.
A: Ocotea is a possibility you specifically saw for candida.
Know anyone with adrenal fatigue? Most use Endoflex, nutmeg, Balsam Fir or other great Young Living oils. Look at using NingXia Red and Powermeal. They are also great for adrenal health. Many adrenal problems are because of candida overload. Interesting that she had candida for over 30 years. She finally used our Parafree capsules and got rid of her chronic yeast problem. She said when you start do one capsule a day for a few days, then 1- 2 times a day for a couple of days. Best to go slow and build up.
I'm a nurse so I know all too well what doctors will be prescribing for candida. When the heat got to me and I had a case of candida in my underarm area as well as in the folds of other skin areas, I tried Thieves spray topically and the oil blend orally. WOW in just a few days, all was healing and the results were more rapid than with any medication prescribed! I was delighted. I use Thieves all over my home and at the office to help eliminate germs of all kinds!
Q: Good morning! I recently started suffering from Candida (candidiasis is essentially a fungus or yeast infection) and it is all over my underarms. Any suggestions for relief would be greatly appreciated. What are you using and how did you use it?
A: Coconut oil with lavender. You need to fix the source of the problem which is typically the gut. Eating a clean diet, no dairy, eggs, sugar, etc. Taking Life 9 and ParaFree may help clear it up
A: Massive Life 9 to start.
Q: What EO's would be recommended to take internally for candida? I read that Digize was good? But I wanted to ask specifically here. Thanks!
A: Ocotea, Inner Defense are both recommended for candida. If it is a deep, ongoing yeast problem Parafree is the go to.
Q: About to place an order but I was wondering what was best for candida. I saw that Di-gize, Inner Defense and/or Mineral Essence could be helpful. Don't want to order all three. Just want to start out with one. Which one is the best?
A: Because I don't know what form of Candida you need, I will provide a variety of information. Here is some from Frances Fuller, another well versed eo person: Candida occurs when the body is too acidic. The biggest culprits are STRESS and the “Three Poisons” – SUGAR, CAFFEINE, and DAIRY PRODUCTS. It is very important to eliminate these and to support the body with LIFE [9] probiotic. If you have even had an antibiotic, the intestinal flora has been compromised, giving candida a beautiful environment for rapid growth. It normally becomes an uphill battle to restore flora and it may require a bit of effort. However, the result is overall better health.
ALKALIME is essential as is OCOTEA.
For the itching, MELROSE or PURIFICATION can be dropped on an ALL-COTTON tmpon and retained all night. ANIMAL SCENTS OINTMENT may offer relief as well.
Cleansing the colon would definitely be indicated.
A: Melaleuca with a carrier like V-6 or coconut oil is good to use on the body. Thieves taken internally (and Inner Defense which is a stronger version of Thieves), Di-Gize can be used topically, taken internally or used as a retention enema over night. Life 5 would be very important as would Alkalime. I would say either Di-Gize or Inner Defense to start. Get on a good probiotic and eliminate sugar.
Weak immune system? Yeast overgrowth internally? Body not absorbing nutrition and oils like they should? Consider Inner Defense and/or Mineral Essence. Freeze Inner Defense so you can take it without upsetting your stomach. Mineral Essence is different from other colloidal minerals, the ingredients are ionic. Basically they are electrical and able to penetrate cells walls.
From the head chemist with Young Living: Inner Defense: Contains Thieves, Clove, Oregano, Cinnamon, Rosemary, Eucalyptus radiate, Lemon, Thyme and Lemongrass. He said studies have shown that the ingredients contained in this supplement are all natural antiseptics.
"Inner Defense is Thieves in a capsule on steroids," Marc Schroeder.
"Lemongrass Essential Oil kills Candida,” Marc Schroeder.
Q: What would you recommend for a skin yeast infection? I'm hoping for something to get rid of it but also some relief from the itching would be amazing...
A: Melaleuca and Purification are great for yeast. I used the two in a combination for a vaginal yeast infection a couple months ago. Kicked it in 2 days! Id assume the same combo would work for a yeast rash.
A: Inner Defense, ocotea, Parafree some other things to add.
Yeast? Great info on why Inner Defense or Thieves in the morning and Life 9 at night, will help you. specifically the clove oil which would disrupt the biofilm around yeast/fungi forms allowing the good bacteria in Life 9 to overrun the yeast, killing it off.
Q: I am fairly certain I've got an overgrowth if yeast in my body. All the symptoms point to it. I've been reading on parafree and wondering how long do you take it? Forever? Or just for a certain amount of time? And as far as the detox process, what kind of side effects are there? Thanks in advance!
A: Follow directions on the bottle. You take it until the yeast is gone. You may also want to add comfort tone and life 9 to be sure the yeast is leaving the body and you are rebuilding the good bacteria in the body.
Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood Hydrosol

It’s been a great detangler.
Hydrosol was used historically for lice just topically. Also the Fungus was just topically sprayed
Yeast infection? Try applying Thieves Mouth wash. Love how versatile yl products can be!
I got my starter kit probably less than a month ago and I'm already in love with essential oils. I have been using Purification with a little coconut oil on a yeast rash. I apply it every morning and it has cleared it up completely! If I forget to apply it, the rash shows up right away so I've been using it every day and I love it. Besides, it smells wonderful!
My husband has Lyme Disease and gets a recurring skin infection on his scalp. It's very hard to control the yeast/bacteria overgrowth in Lyme patients. We do everything we can to work on the inside to reflect on the outside but when he does get this infection we use frankincense, melaleuca alternifolia and lavender. I put a drop or 2 of each oil in my palm with a tsp. of coconut oil and rub it onto his scalp. He always gets immediate relief from the itching and then in a few days the rash starts to subside completely.
I have similar issues resulting from lyme, I take 3 drops melaleuca and 2-3 lavender in capsules to keep it gone.
Q: My son has a yeast overgrowth in his intestinal tract that is causing diarrhea that he's had now for 2 weeks. I just doubled up his Life 5 yesterday, we don't have NingXia and can't really afford it right now, but I have all different kinds of oils.
He's a tubie so I have to be careful how much and many oils I give him to make sure it doesn't eat through his tube site that is silicone.
Ideas?
A: melrose, ocotea
Q: I have a 7 year old who has a yeast infection, what oil could I use and where and how do I use it on her. Thanks
A: Melaleuca is what i used for K & the oil book said to get rid of processed sugar to heal the best...I just applied on the area rash (avoiding internal). K was better in 3 days
A: Use the melaleuca and coconut oil together. I had a kiddo with a diaper rash yeast infection and thrush of the mouth and it was gone within a few days... is it antibiotic related?? Using probiotics would also help the fight 🙂
I wish I had discovered the amazing benefits of essential oils earlier! I have dealt with vaginal yeast infections for years and have used many prescriptions to treat them. Most of these remedies cured the yeast infections, but it took several days.
Recently I tried vaginally inserting Lavender and Frankincense essential oils mixed with coconut oil. The mixture consists of about 10 drops each of Lavender and Frankincense oil with a heaping tablespoon of coconut oil. The yeast infection ceased within 20 minutes! I was in awe!
Now anytime I feel the symptoms coming on, I try this and ward it off completely. Because the coconut oil liquifies when warm, I have found it beneficial to keep it cool (solid) before inserting. I keep some mixed in a container to have on hand whenever I need it.
Q: Recurrent vaginal yeast infections -
I've searched and found several comments
What would you suggest someone try first?
vaginally apply lavender + frankincense?
vaginally apply melaleuca
supplements - alkalime, life [9]
I saw some about grapefruit seed extract - does grapefruit oil work?
Melrose, Oregano, AromaSiez are others I saw suggested.
Asking for a friend that is new to oils, trying to figure out where to start.
A: Definitely the supplements to restore bacteria balance. I would use the melaleuca but lavender and frank is also a good combo
A: Melaleuca diluted in the bath helps and I have even found that just rubbing it on my upper thighs but not applying it vaginally was helpful and didn't burn. Life [9] I am sure will be a huge help and then she should look up other dietary changes that will limit yeast regrowth
Q: Question for the ladies! I had a hysterectomy on Tuesday and am now getting a yeast infection. I've searched the group for suggestions, but a lot of them suggested making a suppository or putting oils on a tampon. I cannot insert anything due to surgery. Suggestions?
A: Melrose on the abdomen helps me with yeast.
A: Start taking Life [9] 3 times a day to rebuild your friendly bacteria. Taking Ocotea internally will be helpful and Inner Defense.
Q: Female stuff:
Last year I contracted guttate psoriasis that apparently came from Strep and two other concurrent bacterial infections but the more naturopaths and such that I've seen, its more than likely that I got it from the amount antibiotics I was on. It's also apparent that that took the auto immune disease that I didn't know I had, lupus, and threw it to the forefront and is a constant struggle. I am seeing a functional medicine doctor right now in addition to a dermatologist, rheumatologist, and endocrinologist. I have figured out my trigger foods and have basically been on a whole30 alternating with AIP type diet (no grains, no gluten, no refined cane sugar, no nightshades, no dairy, no legumes) for over a year now. It also means I cannot take supplements with those things in it and coconut oil of almost any kind irritates my skin now. If I have things like maple syrup or anything with honey in it I can eat small amounts periodically but if I do more than that I get a rash all over my arms and legs which looks like a lupus rash to every medical professional I've seen. Weirdly enough my psoriasis stays at bay if I get enough sun or in a tanning bed, but then I also get the lupus rash because I am also sensitive to the sun. I can't win for losing. But I do what I need to do to not be where I was last year.
That being said, since that diagnosis, I have had reoccurring vaginal yeast infections. It shows up about the time of my period and by the time I can get the symptoms under control and its gone, I have about a week before I start my period again. Its really annoying. My GYN keeps wanting me to go on an antifungal with an antibiotic to get rid of it, but I'm terrified of going on an antibiotic again and since this is internal I'm not sure how much good an antifungal will do.
I honestly don't know where else to turn. This group is private and I would really appreciate suggestions to help. Thanks.
A: Several capsules daily full of Thieves did wonders for me with my last yeast infection.
A: Put a drop of Purification on your panty or natural pad each day. Great for itchy situations.
A: Definitely start by adding Life9 as a probiotic
A: Studies I've read say one round of antibiotics can take years to heal so probiotics are a must if you can take them. Inner Defense would be a consideration. I also wonder if Melaleuca Quinquenervia is the top tea tree variety to get rid of fungus etc. Maybe you could use it with a carrier on a tampon?
It felt so good today, helping a friend with a vaginal yeast infection. She had a terrible infection for several days and couldn't get in to the doctor until Monday. I gave her a small container of coconut oil mixed with lavender and Frankincense and another container of oil mixed with melaleuca to apply vaginally, Alkalime, acidophilus, and whole garlic cloves to eat. After just a few hours she wrote on my Facebook wall how much she loved me and that I saved her life. I love helping and sharing the oils.
I was six months pregnant and was a little apprehensive about using essential oils. Anyway, I think I had some thrush in my vagina, as I was itching and having bad vaginal discharge.
In my desperation, I bought some mini tampons and dipped them in the following essential oil mixture:
2 drops Bergamot
2 drops Lavender
3 drops Melaleuca Alternifolia (tea tree)
3 to 5 ml of V-6 Enhanced Vegetable Oil Complex
I inserted the tampon overnight into my vagina. The next day there was no more terrible itch. I continued to do this nightly, and by the fifth day the itching and discharge were completely gone.
I am happy with these results, and the baby is still kicking. 🙂
Great tip I learned yesterday. Thrush in the mouth is candida. To get rid of it dissolve a digestive enzyme (like Essentialzyme) in a bottle of water and sip it. The enzymes dissolve the candida. Was also used for a nursing baby by dissolving a Mightyzyme (kids enzymes) in a bottle of breast milk and fed it to the baby.
Thrush: Lemon and grapefruit are both excellent for thrush mainly because they assist in alkalizing the body. Thrush is related to hyperacidity. I personally find that taking 40-60 drops lemon essential oils daily is excellent support for an acidic body. One MUST eliminate the "Three Poisons" - SUGAR, CAFFEINE, and DAIRY PRODUCTS. LIFE [9] is also important to restore the flora in the intestinal tract.
Georgia also has said to open up Life [9] and rub it in the mouth to kill the yeast.
Q: My mom has oral thrush and has gone through 2 mouthwash type treatments and one antibiotic with no results. She is swallowing garlic right now and seems to be keeping it from getting any worse but it's not going away. I did a search but all I am seeing is thrush in babies and one in the tonsils, there is nothing in my pocket reference about thrush (unless I am just missing it). Help please!
A: lavender is suppose to be good for yeast problems.
A: I would look at Life [9] (Probiotic) to help. Parafree has been used to clear up major yeast problems.
A: I think ... Inner Defense and even Ocotea would be good options to consider also. Maintaining an alkaline environment within the body is very important.
Q: 6 month old is taking antibiotics and has since developed at yeast infection and thrush. I read about oregano and things to do for older women. I don't have the other oils they recommended in the files and am not sure what I can try before going to the doctor.
A: You need to be taking Life [9]. If she has Thrush you also have yeast going.
A: Melrose is the best for babies, apply to the lower abdomen. Oregano is too hot for little ones
Q: Help. My baby girl has Thrush, I have search. What worked for you?
A: I would also consider using lavender. You need to take probiotic, Life [9]. You can wipe down the nipples with tea tree after feeding. Swipe Life [9] in the baby's mouth
Q: Help with 18 month old please! I looked thru the files but didn't see anything specific. What's everyone do or done for Thrush in the diaper and mouth?
A: Tea tree with some coconut oil will fix the diaper area 🙂
A: You can open Life [9] capsules and rub inside the mouth
Q: Has anyone had a baby with thrush? I have a 5 week old little girl and it has come back after we finished her prescription. Are there any oils can I use and where do I apply?
A: I've heard tea tree, lavender and frankincense. I'd add a few drops of each to like a tablespoon or less of unrefined coconut oil and rub that around her mouth as often as she eats, if not more frequently. You can rub it on yourself, too, after she eats to prevent it from transferring to you.
A: Also, Life [9] is a probiotic that you can take. Some moms break open capsules and give their babies tiny bits at a time too, like just rubbing some of the powder on the tongue.
Q: Friend with a one year old little girl with thrush no thieves but she does have purification can that be used if so how to apply ? or any other oils that she can use from her kit ?
A: Apply to lower abdomen. Is mom breastfeeding? Needs to be washing her breasts regularly

Open up a Life [9] capsule and mix with a bit of pure, filtered water, enough to make a paste. Apply small amounts to the mouth of baby and nipples of nursing mother, especially right before nursing.
It’s best to do these spaced out from each other. I recommend doing the mouthwash throughout the evening and night time and the Life [9] probiotic throughout the morning.
